FROM THE EDITOR

Eyes forward

Way back when I started my work experience , I was a reporter for a local newspaper . My job ( of course I wasn ’ t getting paid ) was to find out what had been happening in the area and let everyone know . It was a weekly publication so an article could be a few days old or even from a month ago . The point is , we reported on things that had already happened , except for the ads for local events and activities .
» PART OF MY JOB ( AND I ACTUALLY GET PAID NOW ) these days still involves reporting on what has happened and what ’ s been going on . It ’ s not as local – geographically – from CV HQ in Barnsley , we cover stories everywhere from Brigg , right on our doorstep to Brussels , and beyond . Our area is fenestration .
It ’ s important to know what ’ s been happening but what really excites us at Clearview is what ’ s on the horizon . What does the future hold for fenestration ? Who ’ s coming up ? Where ’ s next ?
March issue has our first FIT Show preview of the season , so I guess that ’ s a good place to start . Following the exhibitors ’ event at the end of February , visitors are starting to find out what ’ s in store in May . Exhibitors too are finding out what ’ s in store for them . The organisers – commemorating the 10th anniversary this year – are sure to have some surprises up their sleeves . We can ’ t wait , and we have launched our own weekly enewsletter ; FITzine , which will keep you informed every Wednesday up to FIT of all the organiser ’ s and exhibitors ’ news and previews .
After FIT Show , we are already hearing news of Glazing Summit in October , who ’ s coming back and who ’ s signing up ; again we look forward to the agenda reveal when it ’ s been decided .
But , what about the events that haven ’ t been planned ? What else is in store for our industry ? I ’ ve had some very exciting conversations this week , so keep your eyes peeled for what ’ s to come . Most importantly keep your eyes forward because there ’ s plenty to look forward to in fenestration .
See you next time , Gemma
