Designed for 44mm – 70mm composite , timber and uPVC doors , the Soterian Slim measures just 298mm x 98mm , with a flap projection of 14mm . The design includes an innovative , pivoting serrated stay system , which limits the

flap opening to 39 degrees to protect against key fishing and lock manipulation .
As well as providing robust security and fire safety features , the product eliminates the issue of bulkiness on the interior face of the door . This provides a more aesthetic solution and ensures the door can open fully without damaging the letterplate or interior wall .

10 new staff help meet fire door demand
» LEADING BIRMINGHAM WINDOW and door manufacturer Shelforce is creating 10 full-time jobs at its factory in Erdington . The recruitment drive is in response to the demand for the company ’ s fully compliant Fireshel 30-minure fire , smoke and security resistant door .
Since launching the Fireshel in 2020 , Shelforce has had to increase its manufacturing capacity from a standing start of 70 fire doors a week . Equans has placed an order for 4,300 Fireshel fire doors from now until the end of the year , while Fortem has ordered 2,000 – both for projects in Birmingham .
Shelforce ’ s Business manager Howard Trotter said : “ To meet their [ Equans ] needs , we are going to have to produce 130 fire doors a week . While we have the capacity , we need to strengthen our team to do that which is why we are creating 10 full-time jobs in total .”

‘ Fantastic ’ factory for fire doorsets
» ONE OF THE UK ’ S LEADing performance doorset manufacturers , Ahmarra Door Solutions , welcomed Secured by Design ’ s Lyn Poole to their Fire Door manufacturing facility in Havant , with Ahmarra ’ s Marketing & Compliance Manager Vicki Boulton giving Lyn a tour of the factory .
The majority of Ahmarra ’ s work is for large scale , new build construction projects for schools , hospitals , airports , hotels , luxury homes , social housing and commercial properties .
Ahmarra has dual certification compliance for both fire and security on their range of SBD accredited internal apartment entrance doorsets , providing peace of mind that the people , property and assets within the building are protected from opportunist thieves , vandalism , attack , fire and smoke .
Lyn Poole said : “ It was great to finally catch up with Vicki at the Ahmarra factory in Havant . They have been there a year but because of covid this is the first opportunity I have had to visit them there .
