Annual Predictions

‘ 2022 : Difficult to predict ’

SARAH HITCHINGS , SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR , WINDOW WIDGETS
» GIVEN THE YEAR WE ’ VE ALL HAD , compounded by the ongoing social , political and economic business challenges , 2022 will be a difficult year to predict , yet I feel it will be one in which consumer demand will abate somewhat and the supply chain should settle down to relative normality .
Like 2021 , customer relationships and clear communications will come to the fore , something that that ’ s always been part of our unique culture here . But the big topics within the trade sector will revolve around sustainability and the impending revisions to building regulations .
COP26 ably demonstrated that climate change is arguably the most important variable in our lives if we are to halt the rise in temperatures , restrict the loss of glaciers
and importantly to limit the increase in rising sea levels . For our part we ’ ve already achieved a zero-landfill mark as a business and are focussing our efforts on becoming carbon neutral by 2025 , well ahead of government and global targets and it will be something that we ’ ll be keen to share to our wider audience .
The changes to building regulations will also have a positive effect on climate change with the much-mooted level of
1.2W /( m 2 K ) for new build likely to be superseded in the years to come . By design , The Residence Collection is not only defined through beautiful profile design , but also in terms of energy efficiency and R2 , R7 and R9 will all meet the new standards comfortably .
We ’ ve also been hugely influential in terms of single and dual colour finishes over the years with Painswick , now an industry standard name for agate grey . Within the coming months our range of Cotswold-inspired finishes will also be extended with a range of trims to match through Window Widgets .
Our core business of ancillary systems , consumables and trims continues to thrive , and our 158-page product catalogue has again proven to be an industry must have in offices and vans across the UK .
Most importantly , let ’ s look after one another and make 2022 a safe , healthy and rewarding year for all .

‘ An extremely exciting time for us ’

NICK COWLEY MANAGING DIRECTOR , EURAMAX SOLUTIONS
» MUCH LIKE 2020 BEFORE it , 2021 was an incredible year for Euramax despite the huge challenges posed by COVID .
By far the biggest development of the last twelve months has been the fact we were acquired by Modular Group Investments , a fast-growing and increasingly major presence in the off-site market .
Working closely with MGI Founder Michael Garratt , Euramax has made further inroads into Britain ’ s rapidly expanding modular construction market over the last year .
We ’ ve also launched Euralite - a range of cladding
and decking products that combines all the benefits of aluminium with the sought-after aesthetics of timber .
In 2022 , we ’ ll be continuing to seek out great new businesses that will help us expand our offering - our ideal acquisition is an experienced company operating some spare capacity that genuinely wants to sell .
We ’ ll also be growing our range on the aluminium side , with the aim of adding balconies , steel components , and a range of other products commonly used throughout modular .
We expect Britain ’ s modular building market to continue to grow throughout 2022 . After COP26 , sustainability is on the agenda more than ever , and the way the vast majority of UK homes are built just isn ’ t fit for a net zero future .
Modular uses less energy . It wastes less materials . It results in far lower transportation emissions . It requires much less rework , thanks to more standardised and efficient processes . And the build time can be half that of traditional brick-built construction .
It ’ s an extremely exciting time for us , and we can ’ t wait to see what the next twelve months holds .
