‘ Thrilled to bits ’

» HARDWARE SPECIALIST VBH HAS been successful in two categories and finished as runner up in three more at the prestigious National Fenestration Awards .
The company won Best Digital Marketing Campaign for their promotion of the Q-secure consumer hardware guarantee which will pay out up to £ 8000 in the event of a break in , and Regional Sales Manager Tyler Shutts shared the Young Person of the Year award to follow up her outright win in 2020 .
Marketing Manager Gary Gleeson said , “ It ’ s great to be recognised in this way by the industry and we really appreciate every vote cast our way . We see all awards success , regardless of category , as a giant pat on the back for the whole team and everyone at VBH is thrilled to bits .
“ Having said that , for Tyler to get the nod two years in a row in her individual category shows just how highly rated she is by her customers in the north and is testament to the great service that she and her Customer Service Co-ordinators provide .”

Flying High for 30th Anniversary

» STRAND HARDWARE IS celebrating its 30th anniversary as one of the UK ’ s leading suppliers of door and window hardware including finger protectors , emergency exit and panic hardware , window control systems and glass fittings . The family-run business , based in Walsall , West Midlands , is marking the occasion by sending a gift to customers and suppliers as a thank-you for their continued support .

The company was established by the late Jonathan Franks , who previously ran Hope Works , a well-known iron foundry manufacturing
traditional black antique ironmongery . Jonathan ’ s daughter ,
Catherine joined him in the business in 2000 , initially as
Company Secretary and took on the Managing Director ’ s role upon her father ’ s retirement in 2006 .
Over the years , Strand Hardware has grown – extending its operations , workforce and premises – while managing to maintain the family ethos on which it was based . Earlier this
year , a sister company , Strand Technologies was launched , offering technology-based solutions for safety , security and control of electro-mechanical devices , including ( but not exclusively ) windows and entrances .
The COVID pandemic propelled demand including fail-safe diagnostics for automatic door systems and occupancy management systems .

Four G21 nominations

» LEADING HARDWARE DISTRIBUtor Window Ware rounded off a fantastic last 18 months with an incredible four nominations at this year ’ s G-Awards ; ‘ COVID-19 Business Hero , Best Component Supplier and Best Customer Care Initiative , while their Credit Control Manager , Sharon Fowler , is also a finalist for Unsung hero .
The success doesn ’ t stop with Window Ware , as Arran Isle Ltd was also up for Best Training & Development Initiative with their Horizon Development Programme , for which Window Ware ’ s MD Sam Nuckey was the programme leader .
