Uni-Blinds ® already set the standard for quality and performance thanks to the world-class ScreenLine ® blind systems from Italian company Pellini that go into every unit . But Morley Glass has now taken customer choice to a higher level with the launch of two exclusive new products .
The first is the pleated blackout blind designed to provide complete ‘ darkness on demand ’. It features a high quality woven fabric that blocks light transmission in a design that prevents any leakage of light around the edges or , as is usually the case with pleated blinds , along the vertical cords .
Suitable for retrofit and new windows and doors , the pleated blackout is also
suitable for slimmer double glazed units with 20mm cavities . It is ideal for properties in urban areas where streetlights and car headlights cause excessive light pollution at night , as well as where residents work shifts and need to sleep during the day , or a better sleeping environment is sought for young children .
The pleated blackout blind is also a useful solution in commercial and public buildings . For example , it can be used in rooms which feature historically sensitive décor or antique furniture , preventing the damaging effects of external light exposure over long periods .
LIVING LIFE IN PERFECT SYMMETRY
A second new addition to the Uni- Blinds ® range is the SV + sliding Venetian blind which will appeal to homeowners who prefer a symmetrical look . This shading and privacy solution is operated with ease using a patented magnetic slider , just like the popular SV system . Both feature a slim sideguide on which the slider moves up and down to control the raising , lowering and slat-tilting .
Responding to feedback from end-users who like a balanced look to their windows and doors , Morley Glass and Pellini exclusively developed the SV + to incorporate a ‘ dummy ’ sideguide at the opposite side of the sealed unit .
NEW LOOK SOLAR POWERED MOTORISED BLINDS
In addition to the new systems , Morley Glass has also introduced an upgraded solar control motorised blind option – the W Smart . The new name for W Swipe , this stylish integral blind is perfect for the energy-conscious homeowner looking for greener solutions that reduce their carbon footprint .
W Smart allows end-users to benefit from motorised controls without requiring a mains power connection . It is a semi-automated integral blind featuring a battery which is incorporated within a compact control unit . This battery is recharged by energy from sunlight thanks to a small externally-mounted solar panel unit . The blind is raised or lowered via a superb-looking control device attached to the window – or by remote control .
