NEW TIMBER-LOOK DOORS
Halo customer , Aztec Windows ( Coventry ) Ltd , has launched new mechanically jointed Residential and French Doors as part of its growing Prestige Collection ®.
» AZTEC ’ S PRESTIGE COLLECTION ® has gained recognition throughout the industry for being a great timber alternative , and the new doors will be following the success of Tinidor , Aztec ’ s new small composite door .
Director Michael Hagan explains : “ We are very excited to launch our new Mechanically Jointed Residential and French Doors which are manufactured from Halo Rustique profile . They have been developed after many requests for doors to complement our Halo FlushSash windows . The Pandemic caused a slight delay , but we are now ready to give our customers new products that set us , and them , head and shoulders above the competition .”
The doors offer superior performance over a standard composite door and after being tested at VEKA ’ s laboratory , passed a 10-year cycle test with zero movement and zero adjustment .
They offer better sight lines with a greater glass area and can be easily customised to allow installers a ‘ tailor-made ’ offering . They can be made in any of the VEKA Variations Ex-Stock or Made-to-order colours including VEKA ’ s exclusive ultra-matt finish SPECTRAL . Michael added :
“ We have already made some stunning doors , with interesting glass designs and finishes including an Irish Oak interior and SPECTRAL Anthracite Grey Exterior . We also can produce matching panels . We are about to launch a new Prestige Collection ® website with a range of stock options as well as inspirational photography .”
Aztec has also launched two other websites this year for Tinidoor and their Composite Door ranges .
Dawn Stockell , Marketing Director at VEKA plc said :
“ It ’ s no surprise that Aztec has grown from strength to strength over the last 33 years . Even in a Pandemic it has continued to invest in innovative products and listen to the needs of its customers . VEKA wishes Aztec every success with the new range .”

Conservation Living in Lyme Park
» NESTLED AWAY IN THE PEAK District , adjacent to Lyme Park National Trust , sits the latest installation from The Residence Collection . This perfectly showcases the outstanding heritage credentials of R9 , which is unequivocally the ultimate true timber alternative window and door system .
Lyme Park is a large country estate managed by the National Trust with the mansion house designated as a Grade I listed building . This project that was carried out by Alexander Windows , sits in the local conservation area , one of 109 in the Peak District National Park . The Residence Collection has a long and esteemed history working with local authorities on such conservation projects .
“ We were given the brief to improve the thermal efficiency of the property , all within Article 4 conservation guidelines . The Residence Collection was the perfect solution due to its high-performance , authentic design and perfect imitation of timber ,” says Lauren Tutton , associate director of Alexander Windows . Resplendent with a Clotted Cream exterior and Grained White internal finish , the windows also feature antique black monkey tail handles , working peg and stay , mechanical joints , horizontal Georgian bars and a 28mm decorative glazing bead to complete the finish . The objective was to mimic the original windows but with harnessing modern-day materials for lower maintenance and improved energy efficiency credentials .
“ It ’ s always great to get feedback from our clients and hear how happy they are with their new window and doors and they loved the fact that the windows perfectly replicated traditional manufacturing methods ,” continues Lauren . The Residence Collection has been specifically designed to aesthetically replicate documented historical window designs of the 19th Century and therefore has been approved and specified in many areas across the UK .
Jo Trotman , marketing manager of The Residence Collection added : “ This is a great example of R9 windows for conservation areas . There ’ s little to distinguish them from the originals in terms of dimensions , sightlines and even colour and it ’ s made a very positive impact on this period property , much to the delight of the local planning department and the homeowner .”
