Birmingham business of the year
» BIRMINGHAM WINDOW AND door manufacturer Shelforce has been crowned the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce ( GBCC ) Business of the Year .
It was the second award the company , which specialises in providing high-quality PVCu and aluminium products to local authority building projects such as Birmingham City Council , claimed at the online awards ceremony , taking home the Excellence for People Development award too .
At the heart of its manufacturing services is a genuine commitment to inclusivity and supporting disabled people in their entry to employment , with 75 per cent of their workforce having a disability .
Steve Allen , president of Birmingham Chamber of Commerce , said : “ Shelforce
have shown excellence in many of this year ’ s categories , not only in their service to manufacturing and sustainability but also through their investment in staff development and the wider issue of diversity and inclusion .”
It has been a wonderful 12 months for Shelforce ; earlier this year the company were the main feature on ITV ’ s Made In Britain , having been chosen by producers to demonstrate how sustainable windows are produced and tell the company ’ s unique story .

NEW ADDITION TO SALES TEAM
» FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF a management buyout this month , The Glazerite UK Group Ltd has announced a new sales appointment . Carly Graham joined the fabricator on 12th July 2021 and will be focusing on enhancing the service Glazerite offers its installer base in the Midlands and South East .
Carly , who has over 20 years of experience in fenestration , is looking forward to applying her industry experience to her new role at Glazerite , saying :
“ It ’ s an exciting challenge and I ’ m ready for it . I thrive on the industry ’ s diversity , product development , and its ability to adapt to an ever-changing market and this is exactly what Glazerite excels in . Expanding Site and Workforce as New Opportunities Beckon
» ULTRAFRAME HAS ANNOUNCED plans to expand its workforce , along with the post-lockdown boom that shows no signs of slowing down . The Clitheroe based company is also expanding its operations , with the addition of a 60,000 sq ft facility close by to its 350,000 sq ft Ribble Valley HQ .
Ultraframe was founded in 1983 by Clitheroe businessman John Lancaster who revolutionised the conservatory sector with the development of the first conservatory roof system . Since then , the company has continued to be driven by innovation and has
