Patented pre gasketed aluminium clip bead with a quick release deglazing tool supplied with each kit as STANDARD – First of its kind , Made for Trade has developed what they believe to be the best clip bead on the market . The patented mechanism utilises an outer part of traditional powder coated aluminium to match the surrounding sash perfectly , but they have invented a way of harnessing the high tolerance and reliable snap characteristics seen in thermal break polyamide material to work as the clip element . On those occasions that glass needs
to be removed , a special deglazing tool that engages down the glass line to remove the bead quickly and easily in a couple of seconds has been included in each kit .
Self-adjusting , floating roller hardware with sealed bearings for a true glide feel as STANDARD – One element in a bi-folding door that says if it is a quality product or not is how smooth the glide is . Therefore , MFT developed a unique roller bogey that has a floating axle across the two stainless steel tracks . By spreading the load equally across both tracks it not only vastly reduces wear from undesirable loads , but it also allows the bogey to function smoothly . Even the stainless-steel lateral rollers that guide the door between the tracks have been designed to encompass sealed bearings .
Ergonomic anti-back-drive shootbolt handle with integrated key lock as STANDARD – Firstly , the key passes through the handle blade which makes it impossible to open the door whilst the key is still in situ . Ordinarily this could result in damage to the opposing sash from where the key fob would impact it as they concertina together but by ensuring the handle can ’ t turn whilst the key is still in , this issue is eliminated . Secondly , they designed the handle so it couldn ’ t be back driven from the outside if left unlocked . This essentially means that the key is a belt and braces safety net and not the sole means of security on the shootbolt handle .
Rolled in thermal breaks on selected profiles to eliminate overspray onto the polyamide ensuring a high-quality finish as STANDARD – MFT managing director , Bradley Gaunt said : “ What often can let the side down is overspray on the thermal breaks which can be seen when looking at the sashes end on for example . It detracts from the quality feel and rightly so .” To solve this issue MFT have gone the extra yard and had any profile that is seen in this way to have each half of the profile painted first and rolled together with the thermal break second . They believe this creates a stark contrast and clean look that the consumer will appreciate and frankly should expect .
Bespoke designed and suited traffic and shootbolt handles with matching finishes as STANDARD – Along with the clever , innovative anti-back-drive shootbolt handle , MFT developed its own bespoke matched traffic door handle too . Second to this they are available in matching finishes including brushed stainless steel that other companies struggle to suite together when sourced from different manufacturers .
