Group MD steps down

» WELL RESPECTED INDUSTRY leader , Andy Jones , has stepped down as Group Managing Director at Victorian Sliders , to pursue new opportunities .
It follows a period of rapid growth for the PVC-U sash window supplier , which has recently added over 50 new staff to cope with demand for its popular ECOSlide sash window .
Andy commented : “ Since my appointment as Group MD in 2019 we have embarked on an investment strategy that has enabled us to scale the business rapidly , and we have seen a real transformation during that time and we ’ re on track for 70 % growth .

“ However , the nature of the role and location requires a regular 500 mile roundtrip and so it is time for me to explore new challenges and opportunities . I leave the business in great shape and on a rapid growth trajectory .”
Founder Scot Starkey said : “ Andy has brought a great deal of management expertise to the business and been instrumental in our recent growth . We would like to thank him for his contribution to our company and we wish him well as he pursues new opportunities .”

» RECENT INTERNAL PROMOTIONS at Central Window Systems have seen the full solution fabricator strengthen its senior management team , gearing up the company to meet increased demand for its high quality PVCu and aluminium products .
With over 40 years of combined experience , the three promotions are set to help speed up production processes and improve the company ’ s already excellent customer service .
Jason Lloyd , who has been with the company for 16 years , is now the new Customer Services Director , Keiron Patel , who has been with the company for 14 years , is the new Customer Services Manager , while Stuart Bullock , who ’ s been with Central for 11 years , is the new Business Systems Manager .
With the rest of Central ’ s senior management team , the trio are working to meet increased demand , cut lead times to a minimum , and ensure great customer service across the company ’ s PVCu and aluminium divisions .
They have also played a vital role in Central ’ s recent factory expansion , which saw the company increase its total manufacturing capacity to 52,000 square feet , allowing for the production of around 1,500 frames per week .

ANDY BURNS CELEBRATES TEN YEARS ’ SERVICE

» ANDY BURNS IS SET TO celebrate ten years as a driver for VEKA Recycling in July . Based in Burnley , Andy joined the company on 4th July 2011 , making collections of PVC-U windows for recycling from customers throughout Scotland and the North East .
Andy has been at home on the road for a long time , having been a lorry driver for the past 33 years . Despite having never been out of employment since leaving school , incredibly VEKA Recycling is
actually only the third company he has worked for , including having previously worked for Hotpoint for almost twenty years
and an office furniture group for almost ten years .
Andy has technically been with the VEKA family since 2010 , as
he joined VEKA Recycling on secondment from VEKA Plc – so he was already an established member of the VEKA group .
“ Andy is a great asset to our business and we all congratulate him on reaching this ten-year milestone ,” said VEKA Recycling ’ s Managing Director Simon Scholes . “ He ’ s a great , reliable , solid chap who our customers really like , a truly valued part of the VEKA family .”
