CLEANER REBATES ARE THE STYLISH CHOICE
» TYPICAL GLAZING REBATES IN PVCu windows and doors have changed little since the 1960 ’ s , with gaskets either rolled in or co-extruded onto the upstand of the outer frame . By design , R2 , R7 and R9 frames in The Residence Collection don ’ t carry any gaskets on the frame , they sit within the sash , much like the way in which timber windows are carefully constructed , helping to create the ‘ easy clean ’ rebate .
When opening an R9 window , there is also the visual appeal of a fully laminated rebate , matching the colour and finish of the internal face . Both R2 and R7 feature seven different substrates so that the internal face has a closely
matching through colour too . Regardless of which window or door design from The Residence Collection , they are all far easier to clean than standard PVCu windows and doors .

No ma ’ old windows in Manchester estate
» STEEL WINDOW ASSOCIATION ( SWA ) member , REA Metal Windows , has completed work on the Grade II listed Dantzic on the NOMA estate in Manchester . Situated near Manchester Victoria train station , Dantzic , NOMA has been transformed into 45,000 sq ft of office space .
Russell WBHO was the main contractor on this project and , after a competitive tender , Rea Metal Windows successfully secured the work . After initially completing a site survey

of the selected area , REA supplied 203 W20 steel windows ; replicating the original window fenestration . 1600 individual frames were required for this project and each one of them was hot dipped , galvanised and polyester painted to a RAL 9001 semi-gloss ( cream ) finish . Once installed into their respective openings on site , the frames were glazed with Part L compliant 16mm krypton gas filled double glazed units .

Thanks to the brushless motor , the doors benefit from enhanced life cycles – tested to 2 million cycles . Plus , the new Weldless floor ring uses threaded rods instead of welded brackets , meaning the floor ring can be more easily and precisely levelled , resulting in a much quicker installation .

The upgrades also include anti-intruder protection to class RC2 as standard , so specifiers and building owners can have total peace of mind that the doors will protect against unauthorised access and vandalism .
For those with increased security requirements , the KTV is also available with an additional Night Shield option , which can be installed internally or externally , and is equipped with EN 1672 tested and certified RC2 class burglary protection . The Night Shield is available as either a manual locking solution , or a new low-energy automatic version that reliably locks the revolving doors by means of a simple programme switch .
