Victoria Brocklesby , COO and Co-Founder at Origin , the UK ’ s leading manufacturer of aluminium doors and windows , walks us through the company ’ s history , values and products .
HISTORY
Origin was founded in 2001 by my cousin Neil Ginger ( CEO ) and myself , after spotting a gap in the market for well made , aesthetically pleasing , bi-fold doors with fantastic customer service levels . Origin now manufacturers highquality aluminium bi-folding , residential and sliding doors and windows ; all complementary products that make up the Origin Home range .
The business has grown from a two person operation into a £ 39 million turnover business , with operations in America , Dubai and Europe , and over 280 employees in the UK . As it has grown and diversified , the foundations of our ‘ family ethos ’ have remained at the heart of everything the business does .
HOW ORIGIN WORKS
Origin ’ s entire operation is centred around its partners and their business model and bottom line , and as part of this service the partners have unrivalled access to the highest quality products ( the Origin Home range ), including :
• The Origin Bi-Fold Door ( OB-49 and OB-72 ) – allowing consumers to open up their living space , garden and patio area . ( Also available as a corner bi-fold , French or single door )
• The Origin Sliding Door ( Artisan Slider OS-20 and Patio Slider OS-44 and OS- 77 ) – a modern take on the traditional patio door through a blend of aesthetics and functionality

Origin then uses a nationwide network of nearly 1,000 partners to sell these Origin products to consumers . The partners , comprising of builders and glazing installers , act as brand ambassadors , using their strong influence over homeowners to ensure Origin is part of any final purchasing decisions .
Origin has a strong , recognisable brand in the home market , which is advantageous for its partners , as it makes the sales process easier with the demand it brings . Additionally , partners receive an unmatched level of support from Origin , including marketing , on-site installation and sales training , which ensures they continue to push Origin products to consumers as the number one choice for doors and windows .

In fact , Origin has always managed to keep family at its core , with 35 percent of current employees being either related or a family referral . 70 percent of the board are part of the founding family .
As well as this , Origin has a strong ecofocus , making large strides to reduce its environmental impact . This includes achieving ISO 14001 , which demonstrates its strong moral compass . It became zero-to-landfill , and sends all its general waste to be incinerated to create electricity for social housing , with leftover ashes used to make tarmac and asphalt .
