Are you FIT for FIT ?
With the UK vaccine rollout sprinting ahead , and the Government ’ s roadmap to the easing of COVID restrictions well underway , we turn our attention to the fenestration industry ’ s first major fixture in the calendar - FIT Show 2021 .
» FIT SHOW WILL TAKE PLACE AT the NEC from Sunday September 26 - 28 , which places it well after the Government ’ s suggested timeline of June for lifting all COVID restrictions . Here ’ s what FIT Show event director Nickie West has to say to all the brands out there who she believes should be using this time to get ‘ fit for FIT ’.
Nickie comments : “ Along with the rest of the country , I very much took Boris ’ roadmap announcement as a big greenlight for the whole industry to start getting back to business . Yes , we have a few hurdles to jump and milestones to reach in the interim , but now is the time to start putting the wheels in motion for our comeback .
“ Preparations are well underway behind the scenes to ensure that we deliver a safe and successful FIT Show for the industry in September . In turn , I would urge the whole industry to make FIT Show 2021 a major fixture on its own roadmap to recovery . What are you doing to get FIT for FIT ?
“ With no industry platform since 2019 , and a raft of new products ready to bring to market , FIT Show 2021 is going to be more important to the industry than ever . We are anticipating an even bigger demand from FIT Show 2021 visitors who will be eagerly anticipating their first real opportunity to see the latest products on the market since 2019 , and to connect with trade partners and suppliers . Can you afford to press pause on this vital part of your marketing and sales strategy until 2022 ?
“ A large proportion of the brands that have already signed up to exhibit at FIT Show in September are actually proactively increasing their stand space so that they can bring even more of the new products that they have been working to develop behind the scenes during the pandemic . Last month alone we took the single biggest stand booking in the history of FIT Show , with machinery giant , Haffner Murat throwing their weight behind the show .
“ Conversely , we have a number of first time brands who are taking smaller footprints to ensure a physical presence at the show . Similarly , some of our European exhibitors who might not be able to bring their full overseas teams due to clashes with hometurf events have still pledged their support by booking stand space , sponsoring show content or speaking as part of the learning programme .
“ We have a list of approved suppliers who are waiting in the wings to bring your brand to life at FIT Show . I would urge any brand that is sitting on the fence , doesn ’ t think they ’ ve got the time to turn around a stand design or get their team in place - act now . Brands that sign up to exhibit now will have the added advantage of being part of the FIT Show marketing machine for the next six months of our campaign .
“ To put it simply , our audience comes to FIT Show to see the best in the industry , to help them to be best in the business . Will you be part of our winners line-up ?”
David Thornton , Chairman of The Window Group was one of the first industry leaders to speak out about the importance of FIT Show 2021 . David adds : “ It will be a celebration , an outlet for the pent-up frustrations of being unable to work , of having to close factories , the struggle to survive . And in fact , I will regard any exhibitors at the 2021 FIT Show as companies that I am more likely to do business with , simply as they have not only survived but they can afford to be there both financially and logistically . By then they are likely to have rationalised their products and services and will have taken a lot of hard decisions during the lockdown that will make those companies leaner , fitter and simply better to do business with .”
FIT Show is the UK ’ s number one , award-winning showcase for the glass , glazing , window , door , hardware and components industry . FIT Show will return to the NEC 26 - 28 September 2021 , Halls 17 , 18 & 19 .
