HARDWARE
GOING FURTHER THAN DOCUMENT Q COMPLIANCE
» WITH ANYONE THAT IS INSTALLING a door or window in a new residential property now being required to ensure the product is Document Q approved , most in the industry would agree that compliance at this level is now the minimum standard for door or window hardware , even if not used in new residential builds .
Whenever there ’ s a ‘ minimum standard ’ in place , manufacturers like Allegion will regularly strive to improve on this ; our core value is indeed , to ‘ Have a Passion for Excellence ’. To comply with Document Q , PAS24:2012 is sufficient . However , at Allegion , we are always looking to go one step further . For instance , as part of a door system , our Brio Weatherfold 4s top hung exterior folding system and Weatherfold 5c rolling bottom system have both achieved the most recent PAS24 standard , PAS24:2016 . Recognised as the architectural standard in exterior folding door hardware , the Brio Weatherfold series is tried and tested , having been manufactured and installed at thousands of sites around the world , and is now even more secure to give specifiers and end users absolute peace of mind .

New handle portfolio launched to showcase aluminium window and door systems
» A HANDLE COLLECTION has been curated by HOPPE ( UK ) to support aluminium window and door manufacturers looking to specify compatible hardware for their products .
Aluminium is known for being a versatile metal . Its flexibility , strength and corrosion resistance make it the ideal building material . It is also significantly more environmentally friendly than other metals ; it is 100 %
recyclable , meaning that carbon savings increase each time it is recycled . This makes it an increasingly popular choice for doors and windows .
The new leaflet has been published by HOPPE ( UK ) to show the variety of hardware available that can be used with aluminium doors and windows .
The collection also includes one of the newer additions to HOPPE ; the lift and slide patio door handle . Lift and slide patio |
doors allow the use of larger glass panels compared to other types of door systems . Despite the additional weight , lift and slide door systems are much easier to use than traditional sliding doors and the flush design of the handle complements the slimness of the aluminium frames with its minimalist design .
