First fire doors off production line
» BIRMINGHAM WINDOW AND door manufacturer Shelforce has received its first major fire door order – with 210 fire doors set to be supplied and installed to Home Meadow House , Hollypiece House and Coppice House in Acocks Green , Birmingham .
The project is being headed by construction giant Wates , one of the UK ’ s leading providers of planned and responsive maintenance services in the social housing sector . When they needed fire doors , they knew who to turn to , having partnered with Shelforce for the last five years .
Shelforce recently launched its new Fireshel 30-minute fire-resistant door as the perfect solution for local authorities who need fully EN tested 3rd Party Accredited , replacement Fire Door sets , that are compliant with the latest 2020 MHCLG Annex A recommendations .
All Fireshel fire doors have been fire and smoke tested from both the inside and outside and PAS 024 Security tested . The door set complete with fanlight glazing panel achieved 49 minutes fire resistance when EN1634-1 tested allowing piece of mind when specifying a Fire Door solution for any local authority or housing association replacement project .

Shelforce has worked on several high-profile Birmingham projects with Wates , including the transformation of Adelaide Tower and the £ 11million revamp of Barry Jackson Tower , a 20-storey tower block to help homeless families .
