‘ A BUSINESS IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS CUSTOMERS ’

» FOLLOWING A SIX-WEEK shutdown during the first Government Lockdown , Morley Glass & Glazing reopened its headquarters in May with a certain degree of caution . The worry being that homeowners would have lost confidence in improving their homes this year and the industry would grind to a halt . However , a secure supply chain and good stock levels combined with continued demand from both commercial sector and retail customers gave the business the optimism to get back to full strength , ready to supply its customers in the only way it knows how – by putting quality and service at the centre of all it does .
Thankfully , that confidence paid off and , in some cases , demand even seemed to increase thanks to a post-lockdown sales surge from existing customers and an influx of new customers . This resulted in a 35 % increase in production of Morley Glass ’ s sealed units with integral blinds inside compared to prelockdown manufacturing levels , leading the business to increase its weekly output from an average of 2,400 integral blinds at the beginning of the year to 3,500 units currently and resulting in a much-welcomed growth in turnover for the specialist integral blinds manufacturer .
Now , as we welcome 2021 at last , the question on everyone ’ s minds is whether or not this growth will continue . As many people continue to spend more time at home , it ’ s likely they will continue to review their properties and decide to invest in home improvements . The fact that most people have not been be able to take holidays abroad for a year also means they have may have more cash available .
Integral blinds continue to be an excellent profit generator for Morley Glass customers as they upsell to those people who now recognise the true value of a home that provides privacy , sun shading and a comfortable living and working environment .
If 2020 reaffirmed anything , it was that a business is only as strong as its customers . Morley Glass knows that its customers are at the heart of its business and is keen to continue to do all it can to help and support them throughout 2021 and beyond . Alongside providing high quality technical support , customer service and marketing materials , including installation and lifestyle videos , the business also launched an updated 96-page brochure for its Uni-Blinds ® product range , ideal for retail showrooms . It will also soon be launching a 64-page point-of-sale white label brochure with an accompanying website .
Morley Glass also recently teamed up with the National Fenestration Awards , Fenestration Digital and VideoProduction4 to give away five free virtual showrooms , including interactive hotspots to help demonstrate products . These virtual showrooms are a great way to provide product information , videos and presentations to homeowners who for a variety of reasons may not be able to visit in person and will help installers provide an improved digital service to customers .
This commitment to its customers was rewarded in December , when Morley Glass was named a COVID Hero at the 2020 National Fenestration Awards . The business also took home the first place prize in all three categories it was nominated in ; Integral Blinds Company , Best Use of Video and IGU Manufacturer and it also received a Special Mention for its tireless charity work for local causes throughout 2020 .
As a return to some kind of normality looks like it may be on the horizon , Morley Glass is looking forward to a return to the FIT Show in 2021 , after the 2020 edition of the exhibition was cancelled . The show will be the perfect opportunity to reintroduce the company ’ s improved Loxone smartphone app . Originally launched at the start of the year , and scheduled to be unveiled at FIT
Show 2020 , the app allows users to easily incorporate integral blinds into electricpowered home automation systems as well as operate them from their tablet or phone , and was created in conjunction with home integration company Loxone .
And as always , Morley Glass customers can expect to see some fantastic new product innovations coming from the business over the next 12 months . This will include the launch of an exclusive blackout blind product at the start of the year . Featuring a pleated plissé effect and available in seven exclusive colours , the blackout blinds will be an excellent addition to cinema rooms , children ’ s bedrooms and anywhere else where a guaranteed blackout is required .
