» IT HAS BEEN A TRULY unprecedented year for almost every sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic , and the glazing industry has had its fair share of challenges , from businesses grinding to a halt due to lockdown to the floodgates opening and demand outstripping supply .
During 2020 the casualties mounted up , with large fabricators going bust , restructuring , or closing their doors , throttling manufacturing capacity across the industry by thousands of frames per week . Meanwhile , a string of installers have also gone bust .

It wasn ’ t all doom and gloom , however , as the home improvement market saw an increase in demand , and this looks set to continue into 2021 .
NEW YEAR , NEW START ?
Many companies are drowning in orders or facing supply chain issues , but now is not the time to stop marketing as the current situation is temporary . At some point , orders will ease , supply chains will settle down and your business will probably have increased capacity .
The vaccine is also likely to mean consumer habits change at some point during the year ,
particularly as holidays will be on the cards again , but with the focus placed firmly on homes last year , and people continuing to work from home , the outlook is good .

2021 sees the return of the FIT Show in May and the Glazing Summit in October , both of which Insight Data is supporting .
You can ’ t match the energy or buzz of a live event , where hundreds of industry leaders and decision makers come together , re-connect with old friends , build new relationships , and do business .
