Annual Predictions
specifically developed for each task and remove a great deal of the freehand inputs , often on scraps of paper or dirt-streaked pads , by using a series of prompts that take the user through the process , often using multiplechoice tick boxes for inputs . What made these apps effective under pandemic conditions is their sheer speed and accuracy , which allow staff that must make site visits to complete their task as much as four times quicker than through conventional methods .
“ The second development , which had been completed just months before Covid , was the web-based version of AdminBase that allows the full system to be accessed anywhere there is an Internet connection … perfect then for home working .” And it is these key features that has been responsible for many of the new users that have driven sales of AdminBase to record levels in the autumn .
However , whilst the dozens of new AdminBase users may
have been persuaded to adopt AdminBase by the pressures of the pandemic , the procedures and routines will remain after more conventional routines may once again be adopted , says Rhonda : “ Many new users of AdminBase have been attracted to the system by the specific efficiencies that it brings and which have allowed people to run their businesses very well through the pandemic . But the general benefits it brings will continue way after the pandemic has passed . The elimination of errors and joined up , single entry slickness of AdminBase reduces costs so significantly that for most users it pays for itself .”
For many window and door installers , necessity has most certainly been the Mother of Invention , with the efficiencies they are now enjoying through AdminBase and other measures , lasting long after the surgical masks have been consigned to the bottom drawer .

» “ WE PRODUCE , IMPLEMENT AND SUPPORT A highly specialised product for which there is little comparison and so a forecast on ‘ the performance of installer management systems in 2021 ’ alone might be a little limited . However , we have more than 500 retail installation businesses with 3500 operators using AdminBase , most of whom we speak to on a regular basis … and so I can offer predictions based upon the feedback we are getting from them ….
… which is generally very optimistic . As is generally known , the industry came back from lockdown to order books that were perhaps three to four times the year-on-year expectation . And demand has not fallen since .
But will this demand continue ? The anecdotal feedback we are receiving from our customers , is that most are booked well into 2021 , with schedules stretched due to a combination of order volumes against product shortages that include PVC-U profiles , hardware and glass . These are improving , they say , but remain unpredictable . Enquiry levels at the time of writing remain high and show no signs of diminishing .
When our customers have ventured forth a response to the question ‘ will it last ?’, they believe that it will , at least whilst uncertainties remain regarding restrictions imposed to contain Covid . For whilst the widespread availability of vaccines appears now to be a given , the effects of them in the real world remains unknown . Even when things become clearer , installers believe that demand for new windows and doors , and especially garden doors as we go through the spring , will continue at least until early summer .
Thereafter , holidays will undoubtedly snatch back much of the funding that , during 2020 at least , was used to improve homes . However , the general belief is that spending to improve our homes , to adapt them and generally fortify them to serve more than ever as our shelters , workplaces and leisure centres , will continue strongly .
All of which is very good news for AdminBase of course .
