DOORS&WINDOWS DELIVERIES GET SMART Efficiency is at the core of the Euroglaze operation, so it’s no surprise that the Barnsley-based Rehau fabricator has found the most efficient way to maintain its 3.5 day lead times and nationwide delivery service in a Covid-19 secure way. » A NEW VAN, COMPLETE with sleeper cab and microwave, means that individual drivers can now make socially distanced deliveries across the whole of the UK, without needing to stay overnight in hotels or travel in pairs. Managing Director Martin Nettleton explained: “Demand is surging for Euroglaze products, particularly because our lean manufacturing operation means we’re able to beat most of the market on lead times. We’ve therefore invested in transport, so that we can get the products out to customers as efficiently and as cost effectively as possible and still maintain free delivery on most orders.” Euroglaze’s despatch and delivery service was already amongst the smartest and most responsive in the industry. A bespoke tracking and alarm system ensures that only complete orders can be loaded on and off its vehicles, and ancillary packing and bagging is all video recorded so that any queries can be instantly resolved. www.euroglaze.co.uk Foiling at Home » PROFINE UK HAS already begun the foiling of KÖMMERLING 70 profiles at the new facility in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, along with the newly acquired PVCu systems, which include the Legend platform and the Evolve vertical sliding sash window. With demand notably up on pre-COVID-19 levels, having an integrated on-site foiling operation has been a necessity. From an extrusion perspective, profine UK will be looking to bring the KÖMMERLING 70 tools over from the Pirmasens and Berlin facilities in Germany in the next couple of months, with 32 tools in total transferred by the end of 2020. Robert Long, production director of profine UK commented: “With an extrusion facility that includes a mixing plant and the post-extrusion process of foil lamination, we’re looking to respond to immediate demand and also to reduce the lead-times on special orders in the coming months. In time we will also look to introduce new colours and woodgrains as market demand dictates and with the considerable resources of the profine Group behind us, we can also look forward to a new investment programme for the facility.” www.profine-uk.com www.kommerling.co.uk WINDOWS MOVE ‘TRANSFORMED’ BUSINESS » TRADE AND RETAIL fabricator Sign Windows says its business has been ‘transformed’ since moving to Deceuninck. Following a management buy-out in 2019 the Leicester fabricator set ambitious growth plans and switched to Deceuninck to capitalise on the growing premium sector. Within the first year, Sign’s turnover has increased by over 65%. Jake Dickman, Production Manager at Sign Windows says: “We saw the market changing: all the growth is at the top end with colour and premium products. We knew we needed a better product offering to tap into this market and Deceuninck was the logical choice.” Sign Windows fabricates and sells Deceuninck’s Flush Sash window, Flush Sash door, 2800 series and 2500 series. The fabricator says these products, along with Deceuninck’s wide colour range are extremely popular with both trade customers and homeowners: “Customers love Deceuninck’s products and they’re easy to manufacture and install. Even with special colours we only have to wait 3-4 weeks which, as you know, compared to the rest of the industry is incredible. We’ve seen fantastic growth since moving to Deceuninck and we’re confident we’ll continue to grow.” www.signwindows.com www.deceuninck.co.uk 34 » SEP 2020 » CLEARVIEW-UK.COM
