HARDWARE
Things are changing in West Yorkshire
With so many businesses adversely
affected by the COVD-19 pandemic, we
have all witnessed the dramatic collapse
of so many established companies either
directly or indirectly affected by the virus.
» ONE COMPANY BUCKING
the trend is long established
West Yorkshire based business,
Avocet. As the pandemic forced
many businesses into closure
or reducing their operations
dramatically, Avocet took the time
to re-evaluate their business and
simplify how Avocet would look
and trade moving forward.
CEO, Rythm Jain Saigal explains,
“lockdown for us was just as
daunting as it was for everyone.
We were watching our customers
close their doors for the
foreseeable future in accordance
with government guidelines and
seeing the knock-on effects to our
order books. Fortunately, we had
future plans for the business that
we ended up bringing forward…
very quickly!”
Introducing the new look
group
HARDWARE
Recognising that diversification
was key to strengthening their
business, the Avocet Hardware
Group was born and as of
August will be launched to their
customers with a whole heap of
new additions to the portfolio.
The Avocet Hardware Group
comprises of Avocet, home of the
award-winning ABS cylinders and
their range of door and window
hardware and Eliza Tinsley, the
number one supplier to the trade
of fencing and hardware products.
Remarkably, given the current
climate, there are also two new
business additions, companies
which were purchased during
lockdown.
“We escalated our efforts to
complete the acquisition of Reedy
Supplies (now rebranded as Reedy
Rythm Jain Saigal, CEO,
Avocet Hardware Group
Pro) and Greenman Garden tools
during the lockdown period and
we’re delighted that we can now
launch these to our customer
base as part of the new look
group. Reedy Pro is an exciting
range of agricultural equipment
and Greenman offers beautiful
artisanal gardening tools,”
commented Rythm. “The main
point here though is that any of
our customers have access to the
entire company range regardless
of which company they usually do
business with.”
To coincide with the launch,
new websites have been
developed with future plans
to consolidate all the brands
into one ecommerce platform.
“We want to make it as easy as
possible to deal with us moving
forward, so although we’re
launching the Avocet Hardware
Group in August, we’re still very
much at the start of this new
journey and we’re excited by the
opportunities it will present us
and our customers as we move
forward,” remarked Rythm, “and
our main aim is to develop simple
tools allowing our customers the
easiest ordering experience they
can possibly have.”
'We’re excited
by the journey
ahead ... we’re
building a solid
foundation
for all future
endeavours'
With this recent restructure
and the acquisition of two new
businesses, it’s evident that the
Avocet Hardware Group are
planning for a long-term future
and that diversification has been
an integral part of their forward
planning.
To conclude, Rythm had this to
say, “We’re excited by the journey
ahead and although we’ve had to
bring our plans forward by some
margin due to the pandemic, we’re
convinced that for our employees
and our customers, we’re building
a solid foundation for all future
endeavours.”
