DOORS&WINDOWS BACK TO THE BUSINESS OF STEEL WINDOWS AND DOORS » NOW THAT THE ARCHITECTURAL and building world is moving once more, we are pleased to see all Steel Window Association manufacturing members and associate organisations fully up and running. Sites are open again and homeowners’ plans are coming to fruition. The challenges endure, of course, and, if ever there was a time when the membership of a leading professional association is invaluable, it’s now. Throughout the past few months, SWA has been the source of independent, comprehensive advice when members were busy trying to optimise and amend operations. There are always good reasons why a manufacturer or associate should become a member of The Steel Window Association (SWA). members also receive information from organisations such as The Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF) and the Construction Products Association (CPA). The GGF issues daily updates giving members guidance within the housing, construction and building maintenance industries – including the job retention scheme, small business grants, deferred VAT payments and business rates holidays. The SWA receives these updates and immediately forwards them to members. www.steel-window-association.co.uk 37% increase in sales thanks to online marketing » DOUBLE GLAZING INSTALLER Global Windows has posted a 37% increase in sales for June compared to 2019 thanks to leading full-service marketing agency Purplex. It’s just the latest in the long line of impressive results that the Sheffield-based company has seen since appointing Purplex more than two and a half years ago to look after its online marketing, including SEO, Pay Per Click and social media management. And the family-run business, which has been transforming homes across Yorkshire and beyond for more than 20 years, has been able to hit the ground running after lockdown as a result. Global Windows Director Liam Hulme commented: “We launched our online software just in time for lockdown so sales could work remotely and Purplex really listened to what we wanted and worked hard to help us remain active behind the scenes to drive customers to us for quotes. They really delivered for us.” Global Windows stopped manufacturing at the end of last year and have started work on a new showroom to replace their factory. www.purplexmarketing.com GREEN HOMES GRANT PRESENTS OPPORTUNITY » DISTINCTION DOORS HAS welcomed news of a new government initiative which will see homeowners in England receive vouchers worth up to £5,000 to make environmentally friendly home improvements. “We provide the most energy efficient composite door on the market,” says Bethaney Larkman, marketing manager for Distinction Doors. “So, if insulated composite doors qualify for the grant, we are the ideal choice for those wishing to take advantage of the scheme.” Distinction GRP composite doors have been proven to be 19% more thermally efficient than a 48mm solid timber core composite door and 17% more thermally efficient than a 44mm traditional timber panelled door. Doors were tested at the University of Salford’s Energy House. The doors also achieve indicative energy ratings between A and C, with A delivering the best performance levels. “The scheme is set to launch in September, with homeowners having to apply online for the vouchers,” continues Bethaney. “In the meantime, we will be working hard, in partnership with our customers, to raise consumer awareness of our doors; efforts which will be rewarded regardless of their eligibility.” www.distinctiondoors.co.uk 20 » AUG 2020 » CLEARVIEW-UK.COM
