BUSINESS STRATEGIC ONWARD SALE MAKES ‘COMMERCIAL SENSE’ » FOLLOWING ON FROM THE acquisition of essential assets from the administrators of Aperture Trading Ltd, which includes the Evolve, Legend and WarmCore brands, profine Group have sold the finished window and door manufacturing facilities to Solar Norvik Ltd & Solar Calibre Doors Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Solar Norvik Ltd and Solar Calibre Ltd are newly formed companies by the same owner / management team behind the well-established Solar Windows Ltd and Interframe (SW) Ltd businesses, which are highly regarded and successful in the commercial and trade sectors respectively. Given the fact that profine Group are a large, global systems house, the manufacturing facilities that were bought as part of the deal have been deemed non-core and so the challenge during the lockdown period was to find a suitable partner to take on these important manufacturing units. There’s now a ‘I do believe that we have the perfect partner in place to take these businesses and brands forward’ partnership deal for growth in place between profine and the new Solar businesses, and importantly, Solar Norvik Ltd and Solar Calibre Doors Ltd will continue to operate at the Huthwaite site. Gareth Jones, managing director of profine UK commented: “It made commercial sense to buy all of the remaining assets from KPMG, the administrators of Aperture Trading, but given our group mantra of excelling in our core competences, we’ve found a reputable partner for the manufacturing facilities. I have known Carl Lewis for nearly 20 years, and I do believe that we have the perfect partner in place to take these businesses and brands forward.” Carl Lewis, managing director of Solar Norvik Ltd and Solar Calibre Doors Ltd concluded: “Both the Norvik and Calibre Doors assets will fit perfectly into our current business model and we’re genuinely thrilled with the deal and partnership programme that we have in place with profine. It’s also good news for both businesses, the local labour market, for the supply chain and ultimately the customers of both brands.” www.profine-uk.com » THE POLICE DIGITAL SECURITY Centre (PDSC) is proud to support and participate in a new industry-led Working Group to develop a national cyber insurance standard for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). With almost half of all businesses having suffered at least one cyber-attack or breach in the past year, cyber insurance is becoming an increasingly important consideration. However, with the cyber insurance industry expected to grow rapidly over the next few years, finding a policy that provides the appropriate level of coverage for SMEs can be challenging. To overcome this issue, PDSC approached London Market Forums (LMForums) to help define a new national ‘cyber security standard’. The new standard, which will be developed by The ‘Cyber Security Standard’ against catastrophic attacks the Working Group, will allow SMEs to make a more informed decision when choosing cover. The Working Group comprises some of the most well-known cyber insurers in the country and is sponsored by Cyber Risk Aware and CyGlass. Simon Newman, Head of Cyber and Business Services at Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (PCPI) said: “SMEs are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of cyber insurance as the impact of a breach or an attack can be catastrophic, yet it can often be difficult for SMEs to work out the appropriate level of coverage they need to protect their business. This Working Group is a fantastic example of the industry coming together to help SMEs reduce their vulnerability to cyber-crime and we’re delighted to be working with LM Forums and insurers in making the UK one of the safest places to do business online.” Roger Oldham, Founder of LMForums said: “This is such an interesting and topical matter for our Members. Cyber Insurance is a significant component in the resilience toolkit, often providing businesses with far more than simply a risk transfer mechanism, but a complete support package, both pre and post breach. Our insurance market knowledge sharing and networking hub brings thousands of insurance professionals together annually, to learn, network and collaborate. This Cyber Insurance Working Group will bring great benefit to businesses across the United Kingdom.” www.policedsc.com 74 » JUL 2020 » CLEARVIEW-UK.COM
