PROFINE ACQUIRES ASSETS FROM APERTURE » PROFINE GROUP, HAS ACQUIRED essential assets from Aperture Group, formerly Synseal, one of the leading manufacturers of window and door systems in the UK. The deal was for the purchase of both the extrusion and finished products assets from the administrators of Aperture Trading Ltd, for an undisclosed sum. The KÖMMERLING brand in the UK has been increasing market share, most notably in the last 18 months and profine Group has been continually looking at various options in terms of opening a dedicated manufacturing facility. This has now been realised through a dedicated business as profine UK Extrusions Ltd (www.profine-uk.com), boasting more than 20 extrusion lines, a mixing plant and several foiling and injection moulding The straps used by the London hospital had proven to be uncomfortable over long periods of time and so the request was made to design and manufacture a better solution that would help relieve pressure on the face and ears. Directors Mike Hart and Sarah Hitchings worked in shifts, including the Easter weekend, to produce the new straps using their 3D printer and there are now daily deliveries going out to St Helier Hospital and Southmead Hospital, Bristol. Sarah commented: “Thanks to the original design from Thingiverse and subsequent validation of product and process from Mike, we were able to start producing and distributing within 48 hours. “We all have a duty amidst this crisis to help others.
