typically prefer to be credited as asp photos, just to maintain some anonymity. My full name is Alan Smith, though, if that makes more sense for
the publication.

As for a bio, I originally pursued a career as an illustrator but put down my pencils
and brushes in the late ‘90s and started working at an internet company (like so
many others). I came back to art through photography in around 2009. For the
past several years, film photography, shooting mostly female subjects in natural
light and settings, has dominated my work.
In a moment of stoned epiphany I realized that I wanted to make pictures that look
like Marc Bolan songs sound. I reckon that’s still a worthy goal. ‡
