Now let’s apply that to carpet cleaning or any cleaning for that matter. People are judging you right from the start much more than at a restaurant. Why? Because for food they came to you. But for service,you come to them. You enter into their private dwellings and sometimes the most intimate parts of their home such as their bedrooms. Whether it be the internet, an ad, a phone call, when you drive up, your appearance, your manner of speech, your dress and grooming you better have it right. These might seem like little things but to a client they are huge especially when all added together. They can make or break whether that client uses you ever again. I know my wife won’t let some service people into her home based upon their attitude and appearance. He might be a great service person but you must look the part too. You might think thats’ not fair. Well guess what? Life is not always fair. Well you might be saying this doesn’t apply to me because I got most all the above things right. I look presentable, my van and equip are clean and I’m polite. No problem right? Well, hold on there a moment cleaner. I have seen cleaners like this numerous times through the years but there business’s still bit the dust. Why? Well just because you think you have everything right doesn’t mean you do. You may still be delusional. How? To put it bluntly our cleaning ability may suck. And believe me your client will notice. So I don’t care how good you or your truck look or how nice you are if you can’t get their carpets clean you won’t be back. As I have always said, “we’re in the appearance business not just the cleaning business”. To illustrate.
