Clean As A Whistle’s 8 Step Rug Cleaning System
Unlike wall to wall carpet, in-plant rug cleaning is
recommended for Oriental Rugs and loose woven rugs. .
Clean As A Whistle cares for everything from the finest to
the most basic rugs from around the world.
Cleaning your rugs at our facility allows us to give it several
treatments for a more thorough cleaning, controlled
drying, and the use of various tools that are not available
on location.
Clean As A Whistle has been in business for 34 years now.
And while our rug cleaning has always been the best in
Houston, we continually strive to bring even better quality
service to you. We made a significant investment in
state-of-the-art rug cleaning equipment that is even more
effective than before!
Our New Eight Step Cleaning System
Step 1: Pre-Inspection and Pick Up
We will determine as much as we possibly can about
the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect
cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning
“prescription”. Our company will come to your home to pick
up your rug, or you may drop it by our shop.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal
We use a variety of
techniques to ‘dust’
the rugs from the
front and back,
including our new,
state-of-the-art
Tumble Duster.
Step 5: Wash
Our new and improved
washtub will clean your
rugs gently and
thoroughly.
It consists of paddle
wheels, which mimic the
gentle motion of hand and river
washing. Soil is effectively removed by the
gentle, turbulent flow of the wash water
without the use of brushes or other mechanical
forces that could damage rug fibers.
Our rug washing solutions not only provide a thorough
cleaning, but they ensure that cross contamination and dye
transfer is impossible during the washing process.
Step 6: Rinse
This new machine is
one of the most
successful rug wringers
in the world. It removes
over 90% of moisture from
rugs in 3 minutes or less, allowing
heavy and dense textiles to be processed
quickly and efficiently.
Additionally, the Centri-Max rug wringer is an exceptional
tool for removing urine and other contaminants from rugs.
Using a combination of centrifugal force, water irrigation,
and effective chemistry, contaminants are flushed out of
rugs better than any other method!
We also use compressed air,
a pile lifter, and special vacuum
attachments to remove dry soil from your rug.
Step 3: Pre-Condition
Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be
pre-treated to emulsify the soils.
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with
special solutions to increase chances of removal. The
fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Step 7: Dry and Finish
Once the rug is removed from the centrifuge, it is hung for
final drying in an environment with controlled temperature
and humidity.
When the rug is completely dry, the pile is gently combed
and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Step 8: Post Inspection and Delivery
Our rug cleaning specialist will give the rug a final
inspection and release it for pick up or delivery. Your rug
will be wrapped in brown craft paper to protect it from dust
and environmental soils until it is picked up or delivered.
Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you.
Our equipment investment helps protect your rug investment.
