Given the current labor market , both companies are in a bind . They need an innovative way to meet those demands . Those conditions set the table for the entry of Task4Pros into the U . S . market . It ’ s an expansion of a Brazilian-based company headed by former CLDA President Chuck Moyer .
CLDA Magazine recently interviewed Moyer about his latest venture , one of many in a logistics career that ’ s spanned over 45 years .
CLDA Mag : Tell us about the company and how you got involved .
Moyer : Task4Pros is an app-based platform that gives companies with warehouses the ability to scale up or down quickly . It helps them not only get but keep high-quality warehouse help .
The company contacted me in the spring of 2022 to help them investigate the possibility of expanding into North America as well as to other countries . I spent time in Brazil working closely with the team to understand their model as well as interviewing numerous industry leaders and legal experts here in the U . S . I provided my thoughts on what modifications needed to make it work in the U . S . Around the end of August , they asked me to join Task4Pros as the president of their U . S . / North American division . I accepted and we went to work and rolled out our first pilot in October 2022 .
CLDA Mag : What makes Task4Pros different ?
Moyer : Task4Pros is not a staffing agency , rather it is a company that has created a unique , flexible , on-demand labor model with a primary focus on warehouse labor , both part and full time , that allows companies to scale up and down quickly . Our proprietarily technology allows companies needing workers to post their jobs on the platform . Workers use the app to see what jobs are available , accept jobs , understand the requirements and track their activity .
We ’ re reaching the workforce of tomorrow with technology that ’ s available today . Our Pros can accept the jobs that align with their skillsets , and the customer can track them to make sure they ’ re on the job , on time , and to monitor performance . It shows when they show up and when they depart so billings are accurate . Also , the app allows our customers to rate our Pros and use those ratings to create their own preferred workforce .
CLDA Mag : How is that different than staffing through a temp agency ?
Moyer : Our Pros are W2 workers ( employees of Task4Pros ). Some of the temp agencies and placement companies use 1099 contract laborers .
Our W2 employee model allows us to offer in-depth training , career advancement and employee benefits to our Pros . We have the flexibility to offer them training to advance their careers . If somebody comes to us , and they ’ re just interested in a job moving boxes because that ’ s what they ’ ve been doing , we ’ ll align them with those opportunities . But if they want to learn to operate a forklift , for example , we ’ ll get them the training and certification they need to advance and boost their income .
Our model is built on respect and advancement opportunities for our Pros . We promote from within when possible . For example , a Pro who starts as a laborer , shows ambition and wants to learn could gain additional skills and advance .
