Legislative Activity in DC and Beyond
CLDA recently had a meeting with the Office of Management and Budget ’ s ( OMB ) Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs ( OIRA ). We met to discuss the harm that would be caused to CLDA members and businesses across the country if the DOL does not modify its proposed upcoming rule of what defines an Independent Contractor ( IC ). OIRA is the unit at OMB that reviews the draft regulations before they can be finalized and published by the Federal Register .
CLDA has been engaged with TSA on behalf of members in Air Cargo and local airport courier or agent ( Authorized Representative ) verticals . We continue our work with TSA to improve security , the safe and steady flow of air commerce , and to remain in our active role to engage with TSA to benefits our members .
