Those 40 + years have been quite a ride for Moyer . It was a ride that he says has been shaped by “ The importance of family , mentors , giving back , and the power of faith , and relationships with those you respect .”
Moyer is currently the president of Task4Pros . The Tennessee-based company provides on-demand labor solutions to the logistics industry . He joined what was then the Messenger & Courier Association of America ( now the CLDA ) in the late 1980s and served as its president from 2018 to 2020 . He has chaired or been a member of just about every committee the association has to offer .
Moyer ’ s 47-year career in the industry mirrors its changes . He started in logistics right out of college when he joined a regional trucking company . He did everything from warehouse operations to driving to coordinating routes . Later , he moved into air freight , where he worked for a third-party provider that handled American Airlines . He then moved into the last mile working for one of the founders of the MCAA , Dick Thomas , at Priority Dispatch in Ohio . He started as an IC driver and , eighteen months later , moved into the office as a dispatcher . He worked his way up to Senior Operations Manager , running the company ’ s largest facility and overseeing others . Moyer next moved to Express Courier International in Memphis , where he ultimately became their CEO , playing a key role in taking them through two exits with private equity . He left the company two years after the company became LSO Final Mile . When he left there , he consulted for others in the industry until joining Pace in 2017 as their president . He went back into consulting until he was approached by Task4Pros in 2022 to become the president of their U . S . / North American division .
Support and Encouragement That Paved the Way
Moyer acknowledges those who have made his journey to the award possible . “ My wife Pam and sons Adam , Jason and Nicholas have played key roles in my career ,” he says . “ I also have to acknowledge Dick Thomas , founder of Priority Dispatch , Joe Bankemper and David Temple of Express Courier International and many MCAA / CLDA and industry leaders .”
He said the award is a testament to everything he holds dear . “ This Hall of Fame Award validates what anyone can do through hard work , giving back , having faith , good mentors , and having family and friends who support and encourage them in their careers and life ’ s journey .”
He expressed humility at joining other Hall of Fame honorees . “ I ’ ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with many of the Hall of Fame members , and I consider them friends ,” he said . “ Becoming a member of this group is an award bigger than me . I ’ m honored to be a member of this elite group that has given so much to the industry and the association . Their leadership , vision , support and friendship have meant so much to me and the industry .” CLDA
