President ’ s Message
This issue of the Customized Logistics & Delivery magazine is all about sustainability . The transportation sector is the most significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the U . S . As a result , our customers are under increasing pressure to document and improve their carbon footprints . The lastmile is a critical part of that footprint , and you can expect your customers to start turning to you more and more about these issues . To quote from an article you ’ ll find on page 13 , “ Sustainability in supply chain management is no longer a niche concern or a PR bonus — it ’ s a mandatory practice that defines the future of transportation , especially for motor carriers .”
