BLAIR’s Apology cannot cheat people
The rulers representing the
exploiting classes, more so the
imperialist very rarely get punished
for their crimes against humanity
howsoever monumental they might
be. Here is Toney Blair-once the
British Prime Minister and the main
accomplice in unleashing the war
of invasion against Iraq in 2003.
Entire world knows that Saddam
Hussein, the then head of Iraq,
defied US imperialism, stood like a
thorn in the neck of imperialists as
against their attempts to gobble
the oil resources in Iraq and other
countries in the Gulf. The imperialist
powers led by the US kicked off a
massive campaign of slander and
disinformation against Saddam
Hussein and portrayed him as a
colossal monster on earth. All this
was done only as part of the
preparation to enslave Iraq by
means of a war of invasion against
it. Toney Blair was a most active US
collaborator in this whole gamble.
Faced with powerful opposition in
UK to his designs to drag UK into
an unjust war he saw to it that a so
called intelligence report is
fabricated to allege that Iraq was
possessing the Weapons of Mass
Destruction (WMD) and Saddam
Hussein may use it any moment of
his choice. So, he must be
overthrown forth with and Iraq be
brought under the occupation of
US led powers. It is already 12
years since the Iraq was invaded
and occupied by the US led forces.
The US imperialists captured, tried
in a fake, illegal and stagemanaged trial and brutally hanged
the Iraq President Saddam Hussein
who held his head high and defied
the might of imperialists till his last
breath.
Now, Toney Blair has come to
the fore with a so called “apology”.
He said: “I apologise for the fact
December 2015
that the intelligence report (on Iraq
possessing WMD) we received was
wrong......”
Even this admission is a bluff.
Reality is: The said report was
deliberately and right under his
own orders or guidance was
fabricated with a purpose of
misleading the anti-war and peace
loving people and influencing of
pressuring the political forces in
favour of his design to involve
Britain in the US led war of invasion
and occupation against Iraq.
US led forces persisted in their
war of invasion and occupation and
butchered lakhs of people in Iraq
even after it was established that
Iraq possessed no WMD
whatsoever. This only exposed
their real intentions. Another
potential question is: How a small
country like Iraq (If at all)
possessing a WMD or pursuing a
nuclear programme can become a
target of attack and how the big
powers, who are sitting on heaps
of most sophisticated WMD
capable of destroying the entire
world several times, can enjoy the
privilege of preaching peace to
others and claiming the right or
authority to punish small countries?
The imperialists have no answer to
these questions. They do not care
to answer because they think that
they are the rulers of the world.
Toney Blair, again, argued in
his so called apology that......I find
it hard for apologising for removing
Saddam....It is better that he is not
there than he is there”. This is
sheer imperialist arrogance. Here
he means to say that it is not the
people of concerned country who
choose their leaders, but it is the
imperialist powers who decide
according to their own likes or
dislikes which country must be
ruled by which leader or leaders.
This attitude must be denounced
by all the countries and people in
the world.
It is a well documented fact
that Blair had shown personal zeal
and urgency in driving Britain into
the US led war against Iraq. A secret
While House memo of Sept 24,
2002 (sent by the then Secretary
of State, US to President Bush) has
revealed that Blair had agreed to
join the war well before the British
Parliament or Cabinet gave the
sanction for it. This revealation and
created much fervour in Britain.
Iraq inquiry committee set up in
2009 under the Chairmanship of
Sir John Chilcot to probe into
Britain’s role in the Iraq war was
called upon to re-open the
proceedings in view of this vital
piece of new evidence. Blair also
was considered as primarily
responsible for the Dossier
released by him on Sept 24, 2002
which alleged that Iraq possessed
the WMD and was pursing Nuclear
Programme. Blair used this
document to win support from
Parliament for his plan to invade
Iraq. Chilcot is expected to submit
his much delayed report in 2016.
It is needless to say that Blair
is playing one more deceptive
