Report from A.P
State Convention of PDSO and NYS successfully held
The PDSO and NYS held a
State Convention in Guntur on
March 19 th 2018. “Ever growing
Unemployment: Imperialist
exploitation and culture – Tasks
of students and Youth”-was the
theme of discussion. The
Convention was addressed by
Com. L. Laxmi Reddy, President,
NYS; Dr. J. Madhu Babu, Asst
Professor,
ANU;
Com.
M.V.Krishnaiah, APTF; Com.
Pandu Ranga Vara Prasad, GS,
APTF, Com. Laxmi, GS, Stree
Vimukti Sanghatana; Com.
S.K.Baji Saida, GS, PDSO and
Com. DK. Basha, GS,NYS.
The speakers said: The
policies of Indian ruling classes
have landed the Country in a
serious economic crisis. In the
name of development, the rulers
are providing all the opportunities
for the imperialists to loot the
cheap labour power and natural
resources abundantly available
in the Country. Small industries
are closing down. The agrarian
crisis is forcing the peasants to
commit suicides. That 4 lakh
peasants had committed suicides
in the last three decades only
show the magnitude of this crisis
and the pathetic state of the
peasants. The unemployment
problem had grown to dangerous
proportions and solving this
problem is not on the agenda of
rulers. The contract and out
sourcing methods increasingly
adopted by them are not only
producing the wage slaves but
also further aggravating the
unemployment problem. There is
no relation between what one
studies and job one is compelled
to take up. Many highly educated
youth are compelled to do small
and petty jobs. The education
sector is tuned to the needs of
dominant classes. Faced with this
situation, the students and youth
24
have a long battle to wage for the
right to education and employment.
The decadent imperialist
culture is seeking to influence and
dictate the food habits, dress code
and mind sets of the people. The
cultural pollution is growing along
with the exploitation. The rulers wish
that the youth must not bother
about the problems around them.
So, they are doing everything to
keep the youth diverted, enmeshed
in one or other illusion and under
the influence of drugs. The rulers
as well as the media controlled by
them are projecting the wealth
amassed by the rich through loot
as hard earned wealth and are
preaching the youth to emulate
them as their models. They are
spreading a criminal and money
culture among the youth. So, there
is every need for students and
youth to fight against the decadent
culture and imbibe the democratic
culture and values. They must take
inspiration from the revolutionaries
like Bhagat Singh and Alluri Seeta
Rama Raju and carry the struggle
forward against feudalism and
imperialism and for a new society.
The Convention adopted
resolutions condemning the
Missile attack on Syria by US and
its allies; exposing the attempts
of rulers in AP to divert the
people from real issues in the
name of special status for AP;
demanding the improvement in
drinking water and drainage
systems in the state and the
cancellation of Coastal Waste
Management Factory Unit-ll in
Nellore district.
The Convention called upon
the students and youth to
observe the 87 th Death
Anniversary Day of Bhagat
Singh, Raj Guru and Sukh Dev
on March 23 rd as an ANTI –
IMPERIALIST DAY.
At the end, the students and
youth took out a rally. The rally
was impressive with the artistes
dancing to the drum beats in
front of it all along the way.
