Srilanka Struggle Against Us Domination Continues The contradictions among the comprador ruling classes - are sharpening and openly bursting out in Sri Lanka as the imperialists are intensifying their attempts to further tighten their stranglehold over Sri Lanka. W hile the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wikremasinghe is busy in nego- tiating several agreements with US, the Sri Lankan President Sirisena has openly termed these attempts as “detrimental to the Country” and openly announced that he will not allow the signing of SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement ) between Sri Lanka and US as “it facilitates and allows the free access to the US troops and contractors to Sri Lanka’s ports. It undermines the independence and sovereignty and betrays the nation.” Sri Lanka is a strategically located island in the Indian Ocean. It occupies an important place in the US strategy to dominate the Asia – Pacific region and Indian Ocean. Therefore, US is leaving no stone unturned to consolidate and strengthen its economic, political and military hold in Sri Lanka. The parties of ruling classes in Sri Lanka had turned their back to the best heritage and traditions of nationalism represented by the earlier generation of Sri Lanka’s political leadership. AS compradors, they chose to serve one or other foreign power. The US and other imperialist powers are using this to their advantage and the Indian ruling classes had become a tool for this. But this opposition is equally dependant on the economic, political and military support of one or other foreign power like China. Here the question is: How the Sri Lankan people stand on their legs, protect their national interests and fight the imperialist politics of domination. W hat role they play in the just struggle of entire people in the Asia, Asia – Pacific region to prevent war and safeguard the just rights and the interests of the people from the imperialist politics of domination. In this connection it is relevant and note-worthy, to reach to such a conclusion on the statement of Rohini Selini, Special public prosecutor in Malegaom blast case, in 2015 that she was told by the NIA to go soft in the case. Salini has later been dropped as a prosecutor in the case. Thus the justice in defeated and buried by the very rulers and ruling party B.J.P in power and that their claims of fighting against terrorism and dispensation of impartial justice etc are nothing but false claims to hood-wink the common people!  17
