US – Get Out of Korean Peninsula

The US and other imperialist powers together with the media controlled by them are engaged in a well articulated campaign to portray North Korea as a most dreaded monster armed with nuclear weapons ready to spell a great disaster to the world . Many in the world are confused and influenced by this campaign . It is needless to say that the US imperialists spearhead this campaign .
True ; the nuclear weapons are a serious threat to the peace . If so , why the US and other big powers thought it right to possess these weapons that are enough in volume to destroy the world many a times ? Why cannot they agree to a complete ban on nuclear weapons including those possessed by them ? Are they not acting in a high handed manner when they prohibit small countries from having some weapons for self – defence while justifying their monopoly possession of them ? Can they show a single instance in the world where a small country used the nuclear or other destructive weapons even for selfdefence ? But we have countless instances where the imperialist powers in general and US in particular sought to crush the small countries and people under the weight or by the show of their weapon power to impose their own domination . The small countries like Korea , therefore , have every right and are fully justified to demand America and other big nuclear powers to destroy their weapons forth with and take steps to defend themselves in what- ever way possible for them . 16
What is the controversy or dispute between the US and North Korea ?
Towards the end of Second World War in 1945 , the Korean people were fighting a war of national liberation against the Japanese aggression . When the Fascist bloc faced the defeat in the Second World War , the Japanese imperialists had withdrawn from the scene . But the US imperialists had stepped into their shoes and invaded Korea on June 25 , 1950 . The Korean people together with the Chinese volunteers had continued the struggle against the US aggressors and inflicted defeat after defeat to them . Finally , the US imperialists had signed an Armistice Agreement with Korea on July 27 , 1953 . While the northern part of Korea , known as North Korea emerged as the Democratic People ’ s Republic led by the Korean Workers Party , the southern part , known as South Korea was virtually reduced into a US satellite . The US had set up a 28,500-strong military base in South Korea on the plea of protecting South Korea from possible attack from the North Korea . While the urge for unification is strong among the Korean people in both parts the US imperialists stood as a biggest road block to it . They propped up dictatorial regimes in South Korea . They went on arming South Korea and flaring up tensions and hostilities between the people of two regions in an attempt to make their presence in South Korea permanent and to bring North Korea under their subjugation by war or other means .
The US strategy to impose their domination over the Asia- Pacific region and the Sea and the emergence of a US led strategic alliance of US-Japan-Australia and India had added new dimensions to the US Korean policy . Retaining and consolidating its hold on South Korea , perpetuating tensions and divisions between two Koreas and creating public opinion against North Korea have become an essential part of this policy .
Countering the US policy has become essential for North Korea for its survival . It seems , North Korea is pursuing a two pronged policy . 1 . To make the US imperialists sufficiently clear that it is prepared for a dialogue and reasonable agreement but cannot be cowed down . The supremacy of US in the power of weapons cannot frighten the North Korea . North Korea too can produce the weapons , including the nuclear weapons and pay the US in the same coin . North Korea had bitterly opposed the setting up of THAAD system in South Korea . Series of moves and counter moves , threats and counter threats between the US and North Korean leaders went on only in this wake . Trump had thundered to wipe out the North Korea . In reply , North Korean President Kim Jong-un has warned : “ The whole territory of the US is within the range of our nuclear strike and a nuclear button is always on the desk of my office and this is just a reality , not a threat .” Trump has replied : “ I too have a Nuclear Button but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his and my Button Works .” contd . in page 19
