Short Story

The Princess and the Shark

One day on a distant beach in Italy, a lone princess was walking alone. Soon she would fly over seas to be married away. She did not want this. She doesn’t even know the man that she will marry. The next day she is flying out. As she walks home and meets her father she plans on begging one last time.

She walked inside her home and looked at her father and already knew. There was no changing his mind. He wasn’t even going to consider it. The princess finished her packing and brought it down stairs.

The next morning she set off to the airport. She had to be disguised because she was world-famous and was bound to be swarmed by reporters. She got on her vehicle and was driven to the airport. She knew what everyone thought of her. A spoiled rotten brat who got everything she wanted. She normally paid no mind to it but today was different. She boarded her private jet and was off. She looked at the pilot and could tell he hated his life and she felt sympathetic for him. She sat in her seat and planned on sleeping all the way.

The princess slept and slept. She then felt a shutter and woke up. She wondered what was wrong. She went to the cockpit, and asked the pilot what that shutter was. The pilot sighed and said the plane was running out of fuel. She wondered why. The pilot said that someone must’ve not filled the plane up with enough fuel. She asked what would happen next. She didn’t need an answer because she knew what he was thinking. The plane was going to crash in the ocean. She began to breathe heavily and started to lose balance. She was going to die. The pilot told her to grab a life jacket. He told her she was going to get wet. The plane began to decent into the Pacific Ocean. The pilot told her to put her seatbelt on and brace herself. The plane hit the water and she jolted forward. She looked out the wind and had seen they have landed on water. She un-buckled and ran to the cockpit. She looked at the pilot and had seen he had died on impact. She could not read him. She was left all alone and could not swim. She hoped people would be coming for her. She sat there all alone with nothing to do. Then a dolphin came along. She enjoyed the dolphins company as the dolphin took the princesses mind of the tragic events. All of a sudden a shark swims around and the dolphin fleas. She is suddenly in danger. She had nowhere to go. The shark bumped into her and she thought she was going to die. The shark swam under her and pushed her towards the surface. She looked at to shark and realized the shark meant no harm. She the shark played with her and bumped her around because it was so lonely. All of a sudden the shark left. The princess was saddened by this but all of a sudden. All of a sudden a helicopter came from behind her to rescue her. She was relieved that the chopper was there as she was exhausted. When she boarded the aircraft she felt sadden. She was going to marry someone she did not want. As she returned home she told her father she did not want to marry him. He told her not to worry about it because he had been eaten by a shark and had died. She felt great knowing she could live happily and free.
