Richie Roxas 1600 x Just for Feet (1998) just dropped bangers upon bangers. That was the most exciting time for me. Now, there are too many collaborations. The Internet is, of course, both a blessing and a curse. Nowadays, it’s rare to buy a pair from an actual athletic store or sneaker chain. It’s more likely bought from a boutique or on eBay. Sometimes gems still pop up in thrift store, though. New Bal- ance, in general, has gained in popularity, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s still a fairly underdog brand. I’ve been hunting for the New Balance x Stussy collab that was released in 2003 and only available in Japan. Japanese sites weren’t really shipping to the States back then. My size 8 foot is pretty common in Japan as well, so my size never pops up. Another one I really want is the New Balance 577 x Offspring in safari print. How’s your collecting habit these days? I’ve slowed down recently due to a bunch of factors (lack of space, lack of money, older and more pickier), and my collecting habits lately are more for archival purposes. Not that I have any sort of official gallery or museum, but I do like having one or two of each model that I like. I also like really old or really weird and rare New Balance stuff. A lot of this stuff is still mysterious to me as there isn’t a lot of info out there. Is there anything you’re still looking for? Volume 2 | classickicks.com | Classic Kicks | 41
