Computer Basics 1 Location: Harvard Street Campus Time: AM & EVE
This course helps students learn basic computer skills including introductions to hardware, software, the internet, and mobile devices. Students learn how to use email, how to search the internet, how to be safe online, and the basics of software applications including documents, spreadsheets, and presentation slides. Mobile devices like smartphones are also explored. Students earn Northstar Digital Literacy certifications in Computer Basics, Internet, and Email. Students also work toward increased typing speeds. Requirements:

Computer Basics 2 Location: Harvard Street Campus Time: AM & EVE
This class is the next level after Computer Basics 1. Students earn Northstar Digital Literacy certifications in Windows Operating System, Social Media, Digital Footprint, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint. Students will expand their information literacy skills through navigating websites and evaluating information credibility and reliability. Career skills, such as building resumes and cover letters, are practiced via the Microsoft applications. Students also work toward increased typing speeds. Requirements: Eligible for ESL 5 or Higher Pass a Computer Literacy test with 70 % or Higher
IC3( Internet Core Competency Certification) Location: Sonia Gutierrez Campus Time: AM & EVE
IC3 Digital Literacy( GS6) is a five-month course that equips students with foundational digital literacy skills for life and work. Learners build skills in 7 key domains: Technology Basics, Digital Citizenship, Information Management, Content Creation, Communication, Collaboration, and Safety & Security, and have the opportunity to earn stackable credentials useful in a variety of work environments.
Requirements: Eligible for ESL 8 Successful completion of Computer Basics 2, or 70 % or higher on NorthStar Word Test and at least 20 WPM on typing test
