Travel and Transport
Things have moved-on since traditional times when rich and poor alike travelled in and out of town by river. Although
still an option most opt for the District Line of the Underground which runs from Richmond in the West and into Central
London and the East End.
The over-ground trains run from Richmond into London Waterloo, and to Stratford via Willesden Junction.
By road, the A316 passes through Kew providing the main link from Richmond into London and the M4 starts just North
of Kew providing access to Heathrow Airport and the West. The A205 provides access to London south of the River
Thames.
