If you have been in the library

early dismissal day from
school, you will quickly understand why we are looking
to add more room to your
library.

Vendor Fair
Please plan on voting
on November 5,
2013. The Edna Zybell Memorial Library
Board has petitioned
to ask the residents of
the City of Clarence
to levy a real estate
tax of up to $0.27 per
$1,000 of taxable
value for support of
the library. A “Yes”
vote would indicate
that you agree that
our town needs a library for
our children and our residents. The library is a safe,
constructive, educational
place for our children to go.
Where else in Clarence
(other than school) can our
children access computers or
books for either school or
entertainment, movies, do
research and socialize with
A $0.27 levy would generate
approximately $7,453.64 for
the library per fiscal year to
supplement the library’s current budget. This averages
out to around $15.50 per
year per real estate tax payer
- that is the cost of one large

Quilt Makers of St. John’s
The ladies of St. John’s each year
spend several winter days tying,
quilting and stuffing pillows. This
year we are also doing crib quilts.
The quilts and lap robes distributed to various places of need
including Tanager Place, The
Ronald McDonald House, Waypoint (Home for Abused Women
and Children) as well as area
care facilities. The pillows are
offered for sale and those remaining are also donated. It is a
lot of fun to sit around a quilt
frame and catch up on the news
around the area in the same way
of our grandmothers.
