Clarence United Methodist Church
“ If you are in search of a church family, please join us at 10am Sunday.”
The Clarence United Methodist Church is buzzing this summer! We are busy preparing for Vacation Bible School. This year we are holding it August 5- 9 beginning each evening with a meal at 5:30 pm. All children, ages 4-11( 3 yr olds welcome if potty-trained) are invited to this fun event. They do not have to be members of our church... all are welcome. Our Sewing Circle has been busy completing some quilts the second Thursday of the month. It is a great way to stay cool if you would like to join them! On August 4th we will be holding our annual WORSHIP AT THE POND. It will be held at the Craig and Kathy Irons ' farm. Every year we look forward to praising God surrounded by the beauty of his creation and Craig and Kathy are such good hosts too. If you would like to attend, bring your lawn chair and a covered dish for the potluck afterwards. We are continuing Sunday School during the summer this year. The children are excused during the worship service to their class and return near the close of the service. This seems to work well and both the parents and children are enjoying it. The UMW is already making plans for their annual Bazaar which may have an earlier date this fall. Be sure to watch for further details. Our youth group is taking the summer off, but have plans to travel to Waterloo to the water park. That should be a great time and cool activity for the hot, summer days! The Clothing Closet is busy as ever! The communities in our area have been extremely generous and keep our rods and racks overflowing with beautiful, slightly worn clothes. If fact, for the next few weeks we are asking that only XL or bigger adult clothes or children ' s clothes be brought in. Our spare room is running out of space. We ask that if you have something for our closet, please DO NOT leave your donation outside the door. We accept donations Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evening 5:30-6:30. If you are in search of a church family, please join us at 10 AM Sunday. We are a friendly, family-like congregation and would love to meet you!
