Not related to the question however it is relevant to a discussion of rules/laws and right and
wrong. There are allegations that 11 of 12 footballs used by the new England Patriots were
under-inflated. The psi in the balls was under the acceptable and permitted levels. Do you
believe this was just an attempt to get a competitive edge or cheating to obtain an advantage.
To me rules are like laws - getting competitive edge is part of the game but cheating - like
breaking a law- is not. Does Patriots history of rules violations ( like a persons criminal history)
regarding videotaping opponents factor in your decision? Thoughts?
The purpose of bail is to assure the attendance of the defendant, when his or her presence is
required in court, whether before or after conviction. Bail is not a means of punishing a
defendant, nor should there be a suggestion of revenue to the government. Should bail be
used as a short term method of safeguarding society against persons future criminal activities?
