Federation Welcomes New Members to the Team

By Jessica Goldfarb
As Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte continues to grow, so does the work behind the scenes that makes that growth possible. To meet the evolving needs of the community, we are excited to welcome three new members to the team, each playing an important role in supporting the organization’ s impact and operations.
Alex Maranga joins the team as accounting specialist, where he will assist with day-to-day financial operations and help process gifts to the Annual Campaign.
His path to Federation has been anything but conventional, with experience spanning the
energy sector in California, the software industry in Chicago,
and time deployed throughout the Middle East. Each chapter, he shares, shaped how he approaches both work and relationships.“ I never really planned it that way,” he said,“ but each experience helped me learn how to connect with people in ways I didn’ t expect.”
Outside the office, Alex can often be found snowboarding, rock climbing, or seeking out his next adventure.
Lauren Madara joins as campaign assistant, supporting the outreach, communication, and tracking that power the Annual Campaign.

She brings previous Federation experience from her time as a Tribute Coordinator at Jewish
Federation of Greater Philadelphia, along with a strong understanding of the importance of donor engagement.
After spending over a decade at home raising her three children and most recently working in a law firm, Lauren returns to Federation work with both professional experience and a personal appreciation for community.
When she is not working, she is often running marathons or traveling to see Dave Matthews Band.
Erik Siedow steps into the role of database coordinator, where he will manage Federation’ s database and support the systems that keep information organized
Erik Siedow and accessible.
A self-described“ recovering archaeologist,” Erik found his way into nonprofit work unexpectedly, eventually discovering a passion for database management and process improvement.“ It was never the plan,” he said,“ but it turned out to be the part of the work I enjoy the most.”
Outside of work, he enjoys tackling ambitious home projects, training with his Swedish Vallhund, and exploring Charlotte’ s food and beer scene with his wife.
These new team members strengthen Federation’ s ability to meet the moment, ensuring our work continues to run smoothly and effectively.
