Fashion with a Purpose: Hadassah’ s Threads of Healing

An afternoon of fashion may begin with beautiful clothing, but at Hadassah of Charlotte’ s upcoming Threads of Healing fundraiser, the true focus is the lives those efforts help to transform.
Presented in partnership with Dillard’ s SouthPark, the event will bring the community together for a runway fashion show, shopping, refreshments and fundraising in support of Hadassah’ s mission of healing, medical research and advocacy.
Cindy Bolokofsky, president of Hadassah Charlotte, shares what attendees can expect, why the event matters and how Hadassah continues to make an impact in Israel, the United States and beyond.

season’ s designer collections, along with wine, gourmet hors d’ oeuvres, a silent auction, door prizes and exclusive shopping discounts. It’ s an opportunity to gather with friends, celebrate in community and support a mission that extends far beyond the Queen City.
The fundraiser will take place at Dillard’ s. What made the store such a fitting partner for this fundraiser? Dillard’ s has been a valued partner of Hadassah for many years, and we’ re grateful for their enthusiasm in helping bring this event to life. In addition to hosting the fashion show, they’ ll offer attendees exclusive shopping opportunities throughout the afternoon. We’ re also thankful to partners including Dolce & Gabbana and Lancôme for contributing auction items and gifts that will make the event even more special.
Beyond the fashion show itself, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle and support Hadassah’ s work. Where will the proceeds from Threads of Healing make an impact? Every ticket purchased supports Hadassah’ s mission of universal healing through medical care, research and advocacy. At Hadassah’ s hospitals in Jerusalem, patients of every religion, race and nationality receive care side by side, reflecting a long-standing commitment to compassion and coexistence.

soldiers recovering from trauma. The event’ s title, Threads of Healing, is especially evocative. What does that phrase mean to you, and how does it reflect Hadassah’ s mission? To me, Threads of Healing represents the connection between care and action. While the fashion show celebrates creativity and style, its purpose is far deeper. Every ticket purchased helps support medical research, patient care and innovations that improve lives around the world. From advances in women’ s health and rehabilitation medicine to pioneering medical discoveries, Hadassah’ s work has touched countless lives for generations.
Hadassah has been a cornerstone of Jewish communal life for more than a century. What do you think surprises people most when they learn about the scope of the organization’ s work, both in Israel and here in the United States? Many people know Hadassah as a women’ s organization, but they’ re often surprised by the breadth of its impact. The research and medical advances taking place at Hadassah Medical Organization benefit patients around the world. In the United States, Hadassah is also a strong advocate for women’ s health, health equity and combating antisemitism, demonstrating that its mission extends well beyond its hospitals.
For women who may know the name Hadassah but have never become involved, what would you want them to understand about the organization and the community it offers? Joining Hadassah means becoming part of a community of incredible women committed to making a difference around the globe. For more than a century, Hadassah has empowered women to lead, advocate, volunteer and build lasting friendships while supporting causes that improve lives both locally and
globally. Whether someone is looking to give back, strengthen their connection to Jewish life or simply find a welcoming community, Hadassah offers a place to belong.
Many people today are looking for meaningful ways to connect, volunteer and make a difference. What has Hadassah meant in your own life, and why do you continue to dedicate your time and energy to it? As a breast cancer survivor, Hadassah stopped being an organization to me and became something deeply personal. It reminded me that healing isn’ t only about medicine; it’ s also about community and knowing you’ re not facing life’ s hardest moments alone.
Our recent Celebrate the Ta- Tas program at The Levine JCC, where survivors and supporters shared their stories through art and photography, reinforced just how powerful that sense of your tribe can be. Hadassah has also given me opportunities to grow as a leader, advocate for issues I care about and work alongside extraordinary women whose generosity continues to inspire me.
