Karki G. and Bhatt M.R. Civil Insight (2019) 45-50 2.1) Pushover Analysis The Static method for non-linear analysis is also called pushover analysis in which buildings are subjected to a monotonically increasing load, meaning buildings are displaced monotonically until the target displacement is reached. The current pushover analysis is based on an assumption that response of a single building is equivalent to the response of a single degree of freedom system. Krawinkler and Seneviratna (1998) presented the basic concepts of pushover analysis and accuracy of current pushover analysis. The authors also discussed about the conditions when the pushover analysis gives both good and misleading results.
