54 CIVIL INSIGHT 2018 STUDENTS’ SECTION CONCLUSION 3D Printing holds a great potential to revolutionize the construction industry. On top of that, 3D-printed houses are safe, reliable and cheap. And like Dr. BehrokhKhoshnevis, the CEO of Contour Crafting Corporation, says — “Almost everything around us is made automatically: our shoes, our clothes, home appliances and cars – so why not buildings?” — 3D printing technology is highly likely to gain remarkable popularity in the near future considering its advantages. Just as slumps can be transformed into beautiful cities, 3D printing can solve the existing housing crises, minimize disaster losses and bolster untroubled reconstruction.
