From the Editor
Dear Readers,
It’s hard to believe Ramadan is here again but I, for one, am looking forward to this celebration of self control,
charity and reflection. It’s a time to give thanks and to embrace the spiritual and health benefits associated with
this holy month. Living in Kuwait gives us plenty to be thankful for and I would like to take this opportunity to
thank you, the readers, for your continued encouragement and support.

Our cover this month features the work of the wonderfully gifted Faisal Alali. This homegrown talent is taking
the region by storm with his uniquely designed home furnishings and we’re fortunate to be able to showcase his
incredible work. I’ve always been fascinated with the art of calligraphy and Faisal combines this traditional art with
a colourful twist, creating a unique patchwork portfolio.

Without wishing to end on a sad note, it is with regret that we must pay homage to Muhammad Ali. The
legendary boxer will be sadly missed but our special tribute looks back on the life of the great man who, despite
his passing, will continue to inspire. In fact, I will leave you with his wise words, particularly poignant for this time
of year.
