City Services Satisfaction Survey 2018 City Services Satisfaction Survey | Page 41
Key Findings: Arlington Overall (cont.)
•
Location and convenience remain the top two reasons for living in Arlington. Quality
of life significantly increased over last year and now replaces affordable housing and
property taxes for the third spot.
– As the importance of this attribute increases, it’s important to monitor and ensure the city
maintains high scores on this measure. Perceptions of overall quality of life have been on
the decline since 2015 (from 80% to 71%, top‐2 box).

Arlington is again perceived most often as being culturally diverse, having a variety
of housing options (though ratings for this measure show a significant decline,
compared to last year), and being financially stable. Scoring lowest was the
perception that Arlington is a great place to retire, which scored second lowest in
2018; it is down significantly from that wave.
Most residents recommend Arlington as a place to live and intend to continue living
here, and nearly one‐third work in Arlington.
