Overall Perceptions Of Quality Of Life
Quality Of Life In Arlington, Overall. Arlington residents continue to rate the city
highly as a place to live overall, in terms of quality of life. About 8 of 10 residents rate
Arlington as either “good” or “excellent,” while only three percent rate Arlington as
“poor.” The overall rating of quality of life in Arlington is similar to 2003, but has
declined significantly from 2000.
Respondents who rate the overall quality of life in Arlington as good or excellent most
often mention amenities, services, convenience or location as reasons.
Respondents who rate the quality of life in Arlington somewhere below “excellent” most
often mention streets or traffic as reasons, followed by lack of public transportation.
Quality Of Life In Neighborhoods, Overall. Arlington residents also continue to rate
their neighborhoods positively in terms of quality of life (78% “excellent” or “good”). As
with overall ratings for the city, the overall rating of quality of life in the neighborhoods is
similar to last year, but has declined significantly from 2000.
Of respondents who rate the overall quality of life in their neighborhoods as good or
excellent, “good neighbors, neighborhoods, or sense of community” is the most
frequently mentioned reason.
