City’s Direction. Over three-fourths of Arlington residents (77%) say that they feel the
city is generally on the right track.
Getting Money’s Worth. Most residents (70%) also feel that they get their money’s
worth in terms of city services and facilities for their tax dollars.
Residents who feel that they are getting their money’s worth most often cite as reasons
the general amount and quality of services the city provides, the quality of life in the city,
and safety. Those who do not feel they are getting their money’s worth most often cite
safety concerns, economic concerns, and street or traffic concerns as reasons.
View On Tax Rate Vs. City Services. Most Arlington residents (73%) say they would
prefer that the city keep taxes and services about at current levels. Only about 10%
would prefer to decrease services and decrease taxes, and about the same number
(13%) would prefer that the city increase taxes in order to increase services.
