measure in 2001).
• Awareness of police attending community meetings down from 2000.
• Fire department emergency services rating down from 2000 (although still extremely
high).
Other attitude measures that are consistent with, or might be factors in, a decline in
overall rating of Arlington as a place to live are:
• 47% of residents say driving or traveling within Arlington is much more or somewhat
more difficult now compared to a year ago.
• 44% of residents say the rates the city charges for water utility bill services are
somewhat or very high.
• Willingness to increase the property tax rate to "maintain" city services at their
current level has declined for two years.
• Willingness to increase the property tax rate to "increase" key city services declined
from 2001.
