Tax Rate Vs. City Services
Reactions were generally mixed or inconclusive regarding different trade-off scenarios
between levels of city services versus property tax rates. Residents were as likely to
say they would be willing to see a decrease in city services in order the keep the
property tax rates the same, as they were to say they would be willing to increase
property tax rates to maintain city services at current levels. Not surprisingly, very few
residents would be “very willing” to see either an increase in property tax rates or a
decrease in city services.
